Pot Roast in a Crock Pot

Prep Time 15 minutes | Ready in 4-8 hours | Serves 4 people  

Ingredients

  • 5 lbs Chuck Roast

  • 10 Small Potatoes (I like Yellow or Red potatoes)

  • 1 Yellow Onion (cut into chuncks)

  • 10 -15 Petite Carrots

  • 2 Stalks of Celery (halved lengthwise and cubed)

  • 4 cups Low Sodium Beef Stock or Broth

  • Combined Seasonings:

    • 1 teaspoons Garlic Powder

    • 1 teaspoons Onion Powder

    • 1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning

    • 1/2 teaspoon Salt

    • 1/2 teaspoon Pepper

Preparation

  1. Place Chuck Roast in the crock pot.

  2. Rub the Roast with combined seasonings.

  3. Add potatoes, carrots and celery on top of roast.

  4. And beef stock or broth to cover roast. If need more liquid add a cup of water.

  5. Cook for approximately 4 hours on high/8 hours on low. I find it is more tender when cooked on low for a longer duration.
