Prep time 20 minutes | Ready in 60 minutes | Serves 8 people  

Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean Hamburger or Ground Turkey

  • 1 med Yellow Onion chopped

  • 1 Green Pepper chopped

  • 2 Celery Stalks halved and cubed

  • 2 large Carrots chopped into bite size

  • 1- 15 oz can Tomato Sauce

  • 2- 15 oz cans Petite Diced Tomatoes  

  • 2- 15 oz cans low sodium Chilli Beans

  • 1- 15 oz can low sodium Dark Red Kidney Beans

  • 4 teaspoons Chili Powder

  • 1 teaspoon Basil

  • Salt & Pepper to taste

Preparation

  1. Ground hamburger or turkey with chopped onion and green pepper in a separate pan. Drain excess fat.

  2. Put sauces and beans in a large stock pot. Add cooked ground hamburger to pot.

  3. Add chopped carrots celery & spices.

  4. Let simmer for an hour or more on low. The longer this cooks the more flavorful it is.
